Things For 2017

I'm generally terrible at keeping up with things these days - I swim three times a week, which basically wipes out most of 3 evenings a week, and that's meant that as I decided (somewhat madly) to run an Akham Horror Play-by-Forum game, I just about keep up with twitter in a kind-of fashion, and not much else. I'm already starting to pressure myself to do things like try and produce a vid for VidUKon, because I'm daft that way.
I do want to try and be a little more active here though, as I'm conscious that I have an account I'm basically not using (and the same for LJ), and I ought to do something with it.
One of the things I have kept up with is a tracker of new things I've read over the last year, because Goodreads is rather addictive, and one of the things I was determined to do this year was spend more time reading on the train, and less time sleeping. My year in books works out to rather more by way of pagecount than I'd expected, as well as a sign that I read more comics than I'd anticipated. It's also helped me avoid buying duplicate issues, which has been useful. So, I thought I might try and post up my thoughts on things I've read, maybe once a week or once a fortnight. I won't even pretend to be in any way a sensible, practised critic - so it'll basically just be what I liked or didn't like - but I thought I'd ask if there's anything I've read in the last year that anyone would be interested in reading. This is my reading list for 2016:

I joined Goodreads in 2015, and there's a similar, shorter list for that year (it's shorter largely because I joined in the last quarter or so of 2015), so if anyone's interested in anything from that year, I could see what I rememebr:

Anyway, if you're interested, let me know.

Date: 2017-01-01 09:10 am (UTC)Some thoughts of Black Magic, Ody-C, Clean Room, Velvet, Insexts, Wynonna Earp, Tomb Raider, and the new Red Sonja run would be greatly appreciated. And I'm preeeetty sure some folks would be interested in the Dragon Age comics. Call it a hunch.

Date: 2017-01-01 07:41 pm (UTC)Do you think there'd be interest in the Dragon Age novels, too? I love the Velvet icon, btw. I only read a couple of issues of Wynonna Earp, but I can still talk about those :) Do ou think it'd be ok to group the Red Sonja stuff by the three writers? I subscribed because of Gail Simone, and I liked Marguerite Bennett's short run so much that I started reading InseXts, which is dark and twisted and glorious. I'm not sure sure about the new Red Sonja writers...
