It looks like there are going to be a few of us watching Batman Returns this Monday (26th) at 7pm BST/8pm CET in the VidUKon discord channel, and the Real McCoy on Sunday (3rd) - if anyone would like to join us, you're more than welcome :)

I'm looking to organise movies for Tuesday and Friday night, so... you'll be amazed to hear, I've put up another poll. Yes, you can have a stiff drink to recover from the shock!



Also, if there are any movies you think should have a group viewing, please do suggest it in the comments. As far as I'm concerned, an important part of every VidUKon is the mad dash to the cinema in the Red Dragon mall one night to watch a movie, so for me, these movie nights are like keeping that experience alive...

Hello! I haven't managed to get much done while I was on my Easter leave, but I have been enjoying the movie nights a lot. I'm back on duty for work from tomorrow, so I'll be working from home every day, and I think that means I'll have even more reasons to want to chill out and watch movies in nice company...

As there are people who can't make Tuesday and/or Friday, I thought I'd expand the poll slightly to try and see who's around and interested in watching things on other evenings, as well as maybe making a Sunday matinee a thing, so that there's more chance for people to watch movies if they want to. It might also make my brain melt... but I'm hoping people are still happy to watch movies with me :)

So, a few of us have been holding online movie nights recently. We agree a day and time, settle down in the VidUKon channel of the Vidding discord server, and generally have a blast watching the movie together via whatever means each person has (we've been going largely for movies available widely on Netflix so far) and ignoring the world. It's been really fun for me, and I very much like having something fun to look forward too. Plus, VidUKon people are the best ;) And we started out watching films that are on the list of sources for the VidUKon Group Vidding Workshop, because then it almost counts as homework for the next convention. Honest!

So, we've agreed broadly on the next couple of movie nights - Tuesday and probably Friday of this week; we usually start at 6pm GMT/7pm BST/8pm CET, and that's what I'd suggest we do again, as it seems to be working. We threw around a fair number of possible movies to watch, and decided it was worth polling to see what to watch next, and who's likely to be around. If you'd like to join us, please do! The more the merrier :)

So, polls - on DW, because it's easier than Twitter. Even though I've never made a DW poll before, I think. Uh-oh...

If you've got suggestions of other films you'd suggest for a group watch, please drop me a comment! So far, we've watched Galaxy Quest, Kingsman, and Tomb Raider, but I think everyone would be happy to rewatch one of those again...
