Your main fandom of the year: VidUKon. A combination of lethargy and an unwillingness to embrace tumblr makes it difficult for me to really have/find fandoms, and there aren't many shows that I'm particularly fannish about. The Walking Dead is probably still the show I enjoy the most.

Your favourite film you watched this year? Pacific Rim was last year, right? In which case, I'd say Les Aventures extraordinaires d'Adèle Blanc-Sec (The Extraordinary Adventures of Adèle Blanc-Sec). I also really enjoyed Her, and Never Let Me Go, How I Live Now and The Birdcage.

Your favourite book read this year? Jim Butcher's Skin Game was my most anticipated book of the year, and was well worth the wait. I tried some new authors though, and thoroughly enjoyed the Kate Daniels series by Ilona Andrews; I'd also recommend Lauren Beukes Zoo City. I read a stupidly large stack of comics that I thought were well done and which I really enjoyed; I think the series that started in 2014 that I enjoyed included Fuse, Wayward, Tomb Raider, Pretty Deadly and Hexed.

Your favourite album or song to listen to this year? Jealous Gods by Poets of the Fall.

Your favourite tv show of the year: The Walking Dead, yet again. Other shows I continued to enjoy included The Newsroom, Death in Paradise, Saving Hope, The Big Bang Theory, Elementary, Castle and Bron/Broen. I tried a host of new shows, most of which were ok but not overly gripping. It occurs to me that I have the tv on a lot.

Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year: I'm prodding my brain to try and remember a show or movie that disappointed me, but nothing's springing to mind. Either I've chosen not to remember, or I didn't have high expectations to begin with...

Your fandom boyfriend of the year: Harry Dresden?

Your fandom girlfriend of the year: Carol Peletier.

Your biggest squee moment of the year: The closing hospital scene in Skin Game. If you don't already know, I'm not spoiling it for you.

The most missed of your old fandoms? Sadly, I think it's still BSG. The friends I had in that fandom were such great people, and I've never had a time where I was more inspired to write, vid and generally be creative. Even if the show did subsequently implode into a fiery ball of disappointment.

The fandom you haven't tried yet, but want to? I don't know if I'd go so far as to say the fandom, but... I've had a few people tell me that Person of Interest gets much better/more interesting after the point in the first season at which I gave up, and I keep thinking I should try again. If nothing else, it's nice to have something to talk with people about.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year? The new Harry Dresden comic mini-series from Dynamite, Down Town, and – fingers crossed - Peace Talks, although that may be next year. TV-wise, the Walking Dead spin-off, which I gather is filming under the codename “Cobalt” at the moment. I'm hoping that the new Odd Couple tv show will air over here in some fashion – I liked Matthew Perry in Go On, and I'd like another comedy show to watch. I have really high hopes about iZombie – I read the comic when it was running – particularly given that some of the team behind Veronica Mars are doing the adaptation, and if the show is half as quirky as the comic, it'll be a blast. You tell me: when have you ever seen a show where the lead is a zombie, and one of her best friends is a gay wereterrier whose grandfather's spirit has possessed the body of a chimp and is living with him? And that's before the vampires, mummies and secret societies get involved...

I'd like the new Netflix Daredevil show to be good, but I've found it difficult to find superhero tv shows I really like, so I'm not holding out a lot of hope. I found Avengers: Assemble to be stupidly entertaining, so I'm hoping Age of Ultron will be good as well. Jekyll & Hyde looks like it could be fun, and The Living and the Dead could be really good if the writing team hit the same standard they did with Life on Mars; although I've not read much about either show, both Cockroaches and The Last Kingdom look like they could be fun in very different ways.

Did I mention the new season of Death in Paradise starts very very very soon? :D

goodbyebird: The Americans: Elizabeth wearing a beige coat and holding a gun, watching the agent she's kidnapped and blindfolded. (The Americans what do you hear?)

I didn't know you watched Elementary. I tapered off during s2, due to Joan really getting the short end of the stick and things generally stagnating, but I hear s3 has done a lot to remedy that? So I'll be back for sure.

Damn, you've kept better eye on what's coming up. But then I'm already behind on so many things, maybe it's good I don't bury myself with upcoming as well hehe. I'd forgotten about Daredevil! I want that to be good as well! I need Rosario Dawson to be a frequent thing *g*
